New Head of Format Development for BBC In-House Entertainment

LONDON: BBC In-House Entertainment has named Sarah Edwards, currently the head of development for entertainment at Talkback Thames, as its head of format entertainment development.

Edwards, a former head of development at 12 Yard Productions, has developed entertainment formats such as ITV’s new dating show Take Me Out, Hole In The Wall (BBC), Weakest Link (BBC), Dog Eat Dog (BBC), Friends Like These (BBC), Eggheads (BBC), Jet Set (BBC), In It To Win It (BBC), Without Prejudice (Channel 4) and Coach Trip (Channel 4). She will work alongside Martin Scott, the head of format entertainment in London; Helen Bullough, the head of entertainment production in Manchester; and Scotland’s head of entertainment and events, Eileen Herlihy. Together, they will work on developing new entertainment formats across all three production bases.

Scott said: "Sarah’s credentials for creating exciting, appealing and unique entertainment formats are second to none and I’m delighted that in-house entertainment will have such a creative force and leader."

Herlihy commented: "I am very excited about the benefits that Sarah will bring to in-house entertainment with her working collaboratively across all three of our production bases."
