STOCKHOLM: Manfred Aronsson, who previously held posts with Modern Times Group (MTG) and SBS, has been appointed as CEO of the Nordic pay-TV outfit C More.

Aronsson takes on the role starting August 18. He succeeds Johan Kleberg, who is leaving TV4 Group to become the CEO of the Bonnier-owned Adlibris Group. Aronsson previously served as CEO of MTG Sweden and was CEO of the Swedish channel Kanal 5. He was also the chairman of Canal+, as C More was previously called, from 2006 to 2007.

Casten Almqvist, the CEO of TV4 Group, chairman of C More and head of the business area for broadcasting within Bonnier, said: "We are very happy to have Manfred Aronsson on board. He has a solid background in television and is well acquainted with C More. This makes him ideal for tackling the challenges the company is facing.”

Aronsson added: “I’m very much anticipating returning to the company. During some time, C More has been under pressure not least in Norway and Denmark. My mission is to find the best possible road ahead and structure for C More, and also the optimal way to showcase the company’s extremely strong rights catalogue for sports, films and TV series.”
