Netflix Outlines European Expansion Plans

LOS GATOS: Netflix is gearing up to increase its footprint across Europe this year, with launches planned for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Subscribers in these countries will be able to instantly watch a curated selection of Hollywood, local and global TV series and movies, including Netflix original series. All content will be available for users to access on TVs, tablets, phones, game consoles and computers, whenever and wherever they'd like.

Netflix currently has more than 48 million members in 40-plus countries. In Europe, Netflix is already present in the U.K. and Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands.

No exact launch dates have been given, and Netflix will release further details, including pricing, programming and supported devices, at a later date.
