CANAL+ Group Unveils Social Player

PARIS: The CANAL+ Group is launching the Social Player, a video and social platform in one that is based on the user's profile, community of friends and preferences.

The Social Player allows users to create their own channel based on their favorite shows, as well as videos posted on friends' timelines. The player introduces a "time comments" feature, which lets users directly access the most commented about moment of any given video and take part in the conversation. Users can also customize their content stream by building personal feeds based on their live interactions with the shows as well as that of their friends and of the TV hosts.

The Social Platform will soon be opened to developers interested in creating third-party applications.
