Sky Sports Adds More PGA Tour Golf

LONDON: Sky Sports has signed a seven-year deal to show exclusive live coverage of the PGA Tour until at least 2022.

The new pact takes effect in 2015, and extends Sky's partnership with the Tour into its 30th year. The agreement comprises 32 live events from the PGA Tour, as well as all four season-ending events of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. It also features the next four biennial matches of the Presidents Cup between the U.S. and an international team representing the rest of the world, minus Europe.

Barney Francis, the managing director of Sky Sports, said: “Sky Sports is the home of golf, with more of the best coverage of the best players competing in the best events than anywhere else. This new agreement with the PGA Tour is huge for us, enabling us to guarantee our viewers long-term U.S. golf coverage for the next decade."

“Sky is the preeminent sports network in the United Kingdom and has been a valued broadcast partner of the PGA Tour,” said Tim Finchem, PGA Tour commissioner. “The Tour and Sky strongly believe in the value of our existing relationship and are excited about the future, a future that includes compelling new content that is tailor-made for tournament telecasts in the U.K.”
