LONDON: The U.K.’s BBC One has commissioned a new documentary looking at the world of shopping addiction.

Twofour is set to produce the hour-long Britain’s Compulsive Shoppers (working title). Dan Adamson and Bridget Sneyd will exec produce for Twofour and Tom Macdonald for the BBC. Charlotte Moore, the controller for BBC One, and Emma Willis, the channel’s head of commissioning for documentaries, ordered the show.

Presented by Jasmine Harman (who last worked on the Twofour production Britain’s Biggest Hoarders), the documentary will track compulsive shoppers while trying to find the causes of their addiction.

“After her work with Britain’s Biggest Hoarders it’s a natural next step to see Jasmine use her uniquely empathetic approach to help people struggling with shopping addiction,” Adamson said. “Through the eyes of the people she meets she’ll understand the lengths addicts go to in hiding their habit and the debts they amass from family and friends.”
