LONDON: Shine TV has named Tanya Shaw as the company's creative director, effective in the spring.

Shaw will report to Kelly Webb-Lamb, the managing director of Shine TV. She will be responsible for supervising the company's existing developments while increasing its catalogue of factual programming, including factual entertainment formats, features and documentaries.

Currently, Shaw serves as the commissioning editor of factual features and formats for the BBC, where she will continue to executive produce series until she officially joins Shine TV. Earlier, she was the commissioning editor of specialist factual for Channel 4 and the creative director of Silver Ridge. Among her production credits are Lads Army, I'm a Celebrity, Pop Idol and the first season of The Apprentice.

Webb-Lamb commented: "Tanya is one of the most talented creatives in the industry, proven both as a program-maker and a commissioner, with a great feel for popular factual and the kind of programs we currently make, and want to make in the future here at Shine TV. We are absolutely delighted that she is joining us and I personally cannot wait to begin working with her."

Shaw added: "It's hard to leave a job you love but the opportunity to be Shine's new creative director is an opportunity just too good to pass up. Their track record in delivering quality popular factual provides a perfect base to help grow the company in new and exciting directions. I am hugely looking forward to working with Kelly and the talented team she has built up around her."
