ITV’s Benidorm Returns for a Sixth Season

LONDON: Next year ITV is due to debut a sixth season of Benidorm, a hit comedy series created by Derren Litten.

Set in a four-star hotel, Benidorm features an ensemble cast that includes Steve Pemberton, Siobhan Finneran, Sheila Reid and Oliver Stokes, to name a few. The 7-episode new season introduces the Dyke family, the characters of which are portrayed by Perry Benson, Hannah Waddingham, Bel Powley and Danny Walters. A premiere date has not yet been confirmed.

Litten remarked: "I'm so excited about series six of Benidorm, probably more excited than all previous series. Apart from Dynasty series 5 of course, what could possibly top the Moldavian Massacre?"

Myfanwy Moore, ITV's comedy commissioning editor, said: "We are all thrilled at ITV to be sharing the sun beds again with our most popular and enduring comedy characters. This series promises to be the sunniest and strongest ever!"

Ben Cavey, executive producer, added: "We are so pleased to have been back in Spain filming series six of Benidorm. Derren Litten has written seven fantastic scripts, which might be seven of the best episodes yet. Things are certainly heating up by the pool in this series, with some great new characters as well as the return of many of our well-loved regulars."
