PARIS: CANAL+ Group is launching a multichannel network on YouTube dedicated to the broadcasts of CANAL+, D8, D17 and i>Télé.

Starting from December, there will be about 20 YouTube channels designed around flagship shows such as Le Grand Journal, Before and Petit Journal, as well as topical channels, notably for cinema, serials, music and urban cultures.

CANAL+ Group has also announced the creation of a new brand for the promotion and expression of TV and web talent, CANALFACTORY. The brand will serve as a destination for previously unpublished original creations, giving new talent the opportunity to increase their audience while benefiting from production and promotion support or the creation of previously unpublished programs.

Christophe Muller, the director of YouTube Partnerships for the Southern Europe, Africa and Middle East region, commented: “We are very pleased with this partnership with CANAL+ Group, which will enable lovers of its flagship programs to find their broadcasts and favorite productions directly via the CANAL+ channels on YouTube. We look forward to bringing this new content to the one billion users of the YouTube community around the world and thus contribute to extending the reach of French audiovisual culture.”

“This agreement with YouTube illustrates our intention to extend the distribution of our content to video broadcasting platforms so that we can reach the largest possible number of people who love our programs, and particularly the young,” said Fabienne Fourquet, CANAL+ Group’s director of new content. “YouTube is a unique space not only for today’s talent to find expression and be creative, but also for tomorrow’s talent, which we want to support and bring to a wider audience in a dedicated area, CANALFACTORY.”
