New Channel Editor at BBC Four

LONDON: Cassian Harrison has been appointed as the channel editor of BBC Four, responsible for the day-to-day management of the service.

Harrison has been working as a channel exec for BBC Two and Four in recent months, with a focus to increase collaboration between the two services across programming, scheduling, marketing and digital. Before that he was a commissioning editor in factual for history and science and natural history for BBC One, Two and Four.

Janice Hadlow, the controller of BBC Two and Four, said: "I'm delighted with this appointment and look forward to working closely with Cassian. I know that he will ensure that BBC Four remains as distinctive, unique and valued by audiences as it has come to be in recent years."

Harrison added: "It's an extraordinary privilege to be given the chance to help run the BBC's best-loved channel. Luckily I am in the amazing position of being able to build on the legacy of one great BBC Four's controller, Richard Klein, whilst having by my side the advice and support of Richard's brilliant predecessor, Janice Hadlow, not to mention a fantastic channel team. I look forward to continuing BBC Four's unrivalled reputation for insightful, surprising and innovative television of every kind."
