Dawn Airey Joins Yahoo!

LONDON: Yahoo! has named Dawn Airey, a 30-year veteran of the TV business who formerly served as CEO of Channel 5, as the senior VP of the company’s new EMEA operation.

Airey will be report to Henrique de Castro, the COO. Starting November 1, Christophe Parcot, who was Yahoo!’s interim lead for EMEA, will take on a new role with the company focused on expanding business in the region.

Airey most recently was the president of a unit of RTL Group. She joined in September 2010 from Channel 5, where she was chairman and CEO. Previously, Airey was the managing director of global content at ITV and the managing director of channels and services at BSkyB. She has also held senior roles at Channel 4.

“Dawn is well known for her visionary thinking, operational discipline and leadership skills, and I can’t wait to work with her as we position Yahoo! for growth throughout the EMEA region,” said de Castro.
