SBS Discovery Takes World Cup, EURO Qualifiers

COPENHAGEN: SBS Discovery Media has reached a deal with UEFA for the rights to European team qualifiers in Denmark, Sweden and Norway for the 2018 World Cup and EURO 2016.

The group, which operates 20 TV brands across the Nordic territories, has secured the exclusive rights across TV, online and mobile platforms in Denmark, Sweden and Norway for all 546 qualifiers involving Europeans teams as they vie to participate in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, taking place in Russia, and the UEFA EURO 2016, set to be held in France.

Discovery Communications completed its acquisition of the SBS Nordic group from ProSiebenSat.1 Media in April of this year.
