New Appointments at Sky Italia

MILAN: Andrea Scrosati has been named executive VP of programming at Sky Italia, leading the film, entertainment, partner channels and Sky TG4 news teams.

The consolidation of the programming teams under Scrosati follows a model used by the platform’s sister companies in the U.K. and Germany. Andrea Zappia, CEO of Sky Italia, noted, “Sky boasts a wealth of outstanding premium content, but it still has great potential for further improving its quality and investing in new TV formats. This new division was created to fulfil this potential, and Andrea Scrosati’s great professionalism and in-depth knowledge of the TV sector are the best guarantee for achieving this important goal.”

Sports will remain a separate programming division.

In other personnel news at Sky Italia, Sarah Varetto is now VP of news, while Delia Bushell as been tapped as chief commercial officer with oversight for the marketing and sales department.
