FOX Sports Prepped for Italy

LOS ANGELES: This August, FOX International Channels says it will launch FOX Sports in Italy with a portfolio of rights that includes Barclay’s Premier League, Spanish La Liga and more.

In addition to English and Spanish national soccer action, FOX Sports in Italy will also carry French Ligue games as well as the FA Cup, plus news and talk shows. FOX Sports is already available in Brazil and Japan, and the ESPN STAR Sports bouquet is being rebranded as FOX Sports in Southeast Asia. FOX Sports now reaches 64 million subs outside of the U.S., up from just 17 million in 2010.

“Our goal is to bring all the passion of FOX Sports to the most passionate sports fans around the world—and in this ranking, Italy comes high up on the list," said Hernan Lopez, the president and CEO of FIC.
