FX UK to Rebrand as FOX

LONDON: The FX channel in the U.K. is being rebranded as FOX as of January 11, 2013, with a number of new shows having been acquired for the lineup as well, including Louie.

The channel will feature several new programs as part of its revamp. From Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution comes the talk show The Ricki Lake Show, while the sitcom Men at Work is from Sony Pictures Television International Distribution. Also headed to the channel is the second season of The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, which has never aired in the U.K. before, alongside the Louis C.K. comedy. These new shows sit alongside U.K. premiere programming currently airing on FX, such as The Walking Dead, American Horror Story: Asylum, NCIS, True Blood and Dexter.

Jason Thorp, the executive VP of content for Europe and managing director for the U.K. and Africa at FOX International Channels UK, said, “FOX has always been behind the spirit and success of FX. Now is the time for us to reward viewers by adding even more unmissable new content under a brand name recognized globally for delivering smart entertainment with an edge.”

Jon Simkin, the director of channels and operations at BSkyB, added, “FX is a channel that our customers value and we are confident they will continue to respond to the high-quality range of U.S. drama and comedy as it becomes FOX. We’re delighted to also offer our customers FOX on the move through Sky Go and on demand.”
