LONDON: The character-based brand Pink Chillies has won the License This! challenge at this year’s Brand Licensing Europe.

Pink Chillies is a range of elephant gifts, with each character representing an endangered species and/or an environmental issue. The range includes toys, bag clips and stationery. Ten percent of the profits are given to support related charities. Pink Chillies won a fully furnished stand at BLE 2013.

Suzanne Till, the director of Pink Chillies, said: “We are thrilled to have won the challenge, and look forward to planning our strategy for the next 12 months. Exhibiting at BLE will give us fantastic exposure to the U.K. and European markets and we can’t wait to showcase Pink Chillies next year.”

Judging panel chair Richard Hollis, the licensing sales director for consumer products at BBC Worldwide, added: “Congratulations to all the finalists, whose properties were so contrasting in their graphic approach and target markets. Picking one was very hard as they all have a bright future. Pink Chillies stood out for us as being the property that had the most to gain from exposure at next year’s show, the simple graphics combined with the exoticism of the elephants and the worthy charity element are a winning combination.”
