Stars Set to Stroll the Croisette

PARIS: A number of actors, directors, writers, producers and show business personalities are headed to Cannes to promote new projects at MIPCOM, among them Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, stars of the period drama The Americans.

This year’s World Premiere TV Screening is the drama The Americans, sold by 20th Century Fox Television Distribution. Russell (Felicity) and Rhys (Brothers and Sisters) will attend that gala screening and take part in a Q&A session following the screening that will be moderated by World Screen‘s Anna Carugati.

Matthew Modine (The Dark Knight Rises) is going to be promoting CAT.8, produced by Muse Entertainment. The X-Files‘ Gillian Anderson is launching The Fall, a crime show for BBC Two that is distributed by Content Media and ZDF Enterprises.

The Walking Dead‘s Sarah Wayne Callies is going to be highlighting the third season of the hit series alongside producer Gale Anne Hurd.

Harvey Weinstein is going to be on hand, promoting The Weinstein Company’s recently launched international television sales division.

Jane Campion (The Piano) will be promoting her new series Top of the Lake, distributed by BBC Worldwide. BBC Worldwide is bringing Matthew Macfadyen (Pride and Prejudice, Spooks, Robin Hood), Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones) and Adam Rothenberg (Tennessee) to promote Ripper Street. Also, chef Nigella Lawson will be in Cannes to present the new cooking show Nigellissima.

NCIS‘s Michael Weatherly and writer/executive producer Gary Glasberg are going to be celebrating the tenth anniversary of the crime procedural alongside CBS Studios International.

Entertainment One (eOne) is launching Primeval: New World at the market and is bringing as its guests Niall Matter (Eureka, 90210, Watchmen), Danny Rahim (EastEnders) and Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural). eOne is also promoting the new season of Saving Hope, with Erica Durance (Smallville), Michael Shanks (Stargate: Atlantis) and Daniel Gillies (The Vampire Diaries, Spider-Man 2) to attend the market.

Canada is the country of honor this year. Telefilm Canada and Canada Media Find are bringing to France an array of Canadian talent to celebrate. Guests include François Arnaud (The Borgias, Copperhead), Michel Courtemanche (Walter 100%, Le Noël de Walter & Tandoori), Stefanie von Pfetten (NCIS, Cracked), David Sutcliffe (Private Practice, Cracked), Ricardo (Ricardo and Friends), Eve Landry (Unité 9) and Amber Marshall (Heartland).

The XII Tribes Entertainment production Hit Women will have its leading ladies, Karla Dieseldorf, Diana Lovell, Kristin Passanita and Debbie Rallo, on the red carpet.

Keasha Rigsby (Say Yes to the Dress) will be talking about her new show, Keasha’s Perfect Dress, produced by Peace Point Entertainment.
