Dutch Carriage for Mediaset Italia

LONDON: Chello Zone has signed carriage deals with Dutch pay-TV providers KPN and Caiway for Mediaset Italia.

Mediaset Italia—available for the first time in the Netherlands—will be the only Italian channel on both KPN and Caiway. It will feature programming from national Italian channels such as Rete 4, Canal 5 and Italia 1.  

KPN, which has 652,000 subs to its IPTV service, adds Mediaset Italia to its basic package. Cable operator Caiway will initially offer the channel to about 27,000 subscribers.

“These deals give nearly 700,000 new viewers the opportunity to watch programming from leading Italian channels in the Netherlands,” said Francesco Mozzetti, the head of sales at Mediaset Italia. “Mediaset Italia is a select mix of entertainment, news and drama enjoyed by audiences with Italian interests, at home and abroad.”
