ITV Studios Makes Comedy Entertainment Appointment

LONDON: ITV Studios has tapped Laura Gibson to fill the newly created role of creative director of comedy entertainment, where she will oversee the development of unscripted comedic formats.

In her new post, Gibson will head up a comedy development team that includes Jack Kennedy as development executive and Susannah Hayley as assistant producer. She reports to Shu Greene, who joins ITV Studios as the director of entertainment this fall.

Denise O’Donoghue, the managing director of ITV Studios U.K., said, “Given the increasing industry demand for quality comedy entertainment programming, we’ve identified the opportunity for a dedicated comedy development team to develop and produce new content and build relationships with comedy talent. Laura has already demonstrated her remarkable ability to devise talked-about comedy TV and I can’t wait to see the projects that will come from this new team.”
