Sandi Toksvig Named Creative Director for Sprout Pictures

LONDON: Sandi Toksvig is to join Stephen Fry and Gina Carter at Sprout Pictures, where she will serve as creative director.

Toksvig will work closely with Carter, the managing director, and Pip Broughton, the newly appointed creative producer, to create and develop new comedy, drama and entertainment projects. Toksvig and Broughton are already working on potential new commissions for the BBC, Sky and ITV.

Toksvig said: “I am delighted to be joining Sprout along with Pip who has been an important professional partner to me for many years. She is an inspirational creative producer. Anyone in Britain joining Stephen Fry in business would count themselves lucky to have his astonishing talents at their disposal. The fact that he’s such a nice guy is a bonus. With the brilliant Gina Carter at the helm we are more than a little excited about the future.”

Carter said: “Sandi is an absolute natural fit with Stephen and me at Sprout, she has known Stephen for more than 30 years and I have been a huge fan of hers forever. Pip’s appointment as our new creative producer means that we have our own creative dream team.”
