TF1 to Air UEFA Euro 2012 & 2016

PARIS: TF1 has signed up to broadcast the headlining matches of the UEFA Euro 2012 and 2016 football events.

For the Euro 2012 event in Poland and Ukraine, coverage kicks off June 8. TF1 will broadcast the first match of the French team in the group rounds as well as the match-up between France and England on June 11. Other matches from the 2012 event to air on TF1 include Germany vs. Portugal on June 9, the Netherlands vs. Germany on June 13, Spain vs. Ireland on June 14 and Croatia vs. Spain or Italy vs. Ireland on June 18. In the second phase of the competition, TF1 will air the first and fourth choice in the quarterfinals. If France reaches the quarterfinals, the teams match will air on TF1. The broadcaster will also air one of the semi-finals and the final, totaling nine matches in all.

For the Euro 2016 event in France, TF1 will air 11 of the top matches. These will be selected after the draw is made for the competition in December 2015.
