LONDON: Extreme Sports Channel has picked up the rights to air the National Open Skydiving Championships from Central Media Productions, a deal that will give the competition its first TV broadcast.

The event sees professional skydivers free-falling from 10,000 feet to compete for the championship crown. Four half-hour installments are planned to air across Extreme Sports Channel’s feeds in the U.K. and across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“Sky diving is one of the most daring sports there is and encapsulates the adrenaline-fuelled, on-the-edge event TV that Extreme Sports Channel is renowned for,” said Tim MacMullen, the general manager of Extreme Sports Channel. We are delighted to be bringing this competition to TV viewers for the first time.”
