ProSiebenSat.1 & Warner Bros. Enter Output Deal

MUNICH: The ProSiebenSat.1 Group has picked up free-TV rights for a package of Hollywood blockbusters from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, which will also supply new U.S. series to the German outfit over the coming years.

The output deal gives the group rights to movies such as the continuation of Superman and the Batman reboot. ProSiebenSat.1 also gains access to a library that includes the Lord of the Rings trilogy and parts one through four of Harry Potter. Local productions from Warner Bros. Germany that will air in cinemas from 2013 are part of the pact as well.

Jeffrey Schlesinger, the president of Warner Bros. International Television, said: “We have long enjoyed a great relationship with ProSieben and are very pleased to have concluded the wide-ranging deal with them to bring our first-rate films and television series to the German television audience.”

ProSiebenSat.1 Group’s CEO, Thomas Ebeling, added: “I’m delighted that Warner movies and series will be running on our stations again. They will enable us to offer our viewers exciting series and film highlights over the next few years. The movies from the output deal and the library will provide us with top-notch products that will lastingly strengthen our competitiveness.”
