BBC Worldwide Lands Digital Deals in Spain

LONDON: BBC Worldwide has secured a range of content deals with the Spanish digital platforms Telefonica, Youzee and Cameo.

Cameo has acquired almost 170 hours of content from BBC Worldwide for its VOD platform Filmin, including the comedy and drama titles Katy Brand’s Big Ass Show, The Thick of It, The Shadow Line, Life on Mars and Wallander. Telefonica has launched its new VOD service with more than 260 hours of BBC Worldwide content across drama, documentary and children’s, featuring seasons one through six of Doctor Who, season one of Sherlock, seasons one and two of Misfits and Torchwood: Miracle Day. In addition, the children’s program Charlie & Lola and the factual titles Amazon with Bruce Parry, Polar Bear: Spy on the Ice, Earth Under Water and Louis Theroux: Hunting, are also available through Telefonica.

BBC Worldwide will be a launch partner for the new VOD platform Youzee, supplying 65 hours of content across comedy and drama. Titles available include the Ricky Gervais comedy series Extras, seasons one and two of the Emmy-nominated drama Luther, Upstairs Downstairs and Pride & Prejudice.
