VIDEO: World Premiere TV Screening: Britannia

The World Premiere TV Screening of Britannia took place in the Grand Auditorium at MIPCOM, alongside a Q&A with executive producer James Richardson and stars David Morrissey, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Eleanor Worthington-Cox, moderated by World Screen’s Anna Carugati.

Set in 43 AD, Britannia follows the Roman army as it returns to the mysterious land of Britannia to crush the Celts, led by warrior women and powerful Druids, who claim they can channel the forces of the underworld. The series follows the rise to power of the reluctant Kerra (Kelly Reilly), the daughter of the King of the Cantii. When the Romans invade Britannia, Kerra and her arch-rival, Queen Antedia (Zoë Wanamaker), are forced to put their differences aside to face their common enemy. A rogue Druid, Divis (Kaas), who prophesied the Roman invasion, finds an unlikely ally in a 12-year-old Cantii girl, Cait (Worthington-Cox), in his quest to defeat Rome. Meanwhile, Roman General Aulus Plautius (Morrissey) will stop at nothing to succeed where Julius Caesar failed, and conquer this mythical land at the far edge of the Roman Empire.
