Topic has ordered a third season of its original series The Accidental Wolf, written and directed by Arian Moayed (Succession, Love Life, Spider-Man: No Way Home).
The Accidental Wolf‘s third season will complete Katie’s journey to uncover what happened on the night of the unknown call that upended her life. Kelli O’Hara (The Gilded Age) and Marsha Stephanie Blake (When They See Us) star in the lead roles.
New cast members for the third season include Ngozi Anyanwu (The Deuce), Orlagh Cassidy (Shirley), Chris Henry Coffey (And Just Like That…), Olli Haaskivi (Manifest), Aasif Mandvi (Evil), Joe Mantello (The Normal Heart), Michael Rady (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), James Udom (The Tragedy of Macbeth, Judas and the Black Messiah), Hend Ayoub (Orange Is the New Black) and Bisserat Tseggai (Succession).
Executive producers are Damon Owlia, Topic’s Ryan Chanatry and Gena Konstantinakos, Gregory Franklin/Franklin Theatrical Group, Jayne Baron Sherman/Mom’s Money Productions and Moayed.
“In all its versions, The Accidental Wolf has been rendered with empathy, gratitude and a belief that there’s a way to keep building and deepening this story,” said Owlia. “Season three continues in this tradition through the generosity and resiliency of a special community of artists. Central to all of this happening is Arian’s preternatural ability as a storyteller to allow human beings to feel seen, heard and understood.”
“We have seen Arian’s vision for The Accidental Wolf grow from the initial mystery and intrigue of season one to the plot-driven strength of the second season, out now, to the edge-of-your-seat finale that concludes season three,” said Chanatry, general manager of Topic.
“Arian is an auteur with a very strong point of view on the world,” added Konstantinakos, VP of originals at Topic. “He’s using suspenseful entertainment to say something that matters, which is exactly what we look for in a Topic original.”
Moayed commented, “Where will Katie go to next? Has Tala been found? Where are the drones from? There’s nothing more exciting than being able to finish a story, speak to the times that we live in and complete a journey toward enlightenment. Who is the Accidental Wolf?”
