Sky Vision has secured an exclusive life-of-series distribution deal for Britannia with the French broadcaster and platform Altice.

The agreement with Altice sees a lifetime commitment for Britannia, and Altice will act as a co-production partner on all future seasons commissioned. Season one will launch on Altice this fall.

Britannia, which aired in the U.K. this year on Sky Atlantic is a Sky original production, has now been brought to more than 209 countries.

Leona Connell, director of sales at Sky Vision, said: “Britannia is a fabulous, cinematic series, so distinctive in its script by award-winning writer Jez Butterworth, and in the high production values delivered by producers Vertigo Films and Neal Street Productions. It proved to be a great success on Sky Atlantic and on our clients’ networks and we are thrilled by its popularity across the world.”

This is the latest partnership between Altice and Sky Vision. Last year, Altice Studios became co-producer on the hit Riviera, starring Julia Stiles and Adrian Lester.

Connell continued: “We believe this series is a very strong brand for Altice Studios to build their content offering across France, Israel and Portugal, and we’re delighted to continue to work with Altice to ensure that viewers across the world enjoy our dramas.”
