Viacom International Studios (VIS) has secured the rights for El Nudo, Atresmedia’s adaptation of Amar después de Amar (Love After Love).

The global distribution agreement includes the original version of El Nudo, made by the Spanish group Atresmedia. It stars Natalia Verbeke, Cristina Plazas, Miquel Fernández and Oriol Tarrasón. The deal also includes the new format, which has 13 50-minute episodes.

Amar después de Amar (ADDA) is a love story in which the friendship between two married couples is the starting point of a forbidden affair. The original version, written by Erika Halvorsen and Gonzalo Demaria, premiered on Telefe Argentina in 2017.

“We are very happy to work together with Atresmedia, first with the sale of the ADDA format to produce El Nudo, and now with the distribution of its adaptation, allowing us to take this captivating love story to markets around the world,” said Guillermo Borensztein, VP of content sales and co-productions at VIS. “We are proud to see ADDA’s success become an international phenomenon.”
