MIAMI: The hit Turkish drama Gumus has landed a U.S. slot on Pasiones, where it debuts tonight at 8 p.m.

Gumus will replace the popular Turkish novela Sila: Cautiva por Amor and will air on Pasiones Monday through Friday. The series is about a humble woman, Gumus, who has been in love with the handsome Mehmet since childhood. After losing his girlfriend in a tragic car accident, Mehmet obeys his grandfather’s plea to take a wife and marries Gumus—even though he has yet to recover from the loss of his former love. She soon realizes that his heart is not in it.

“Our viewers continue to show a great interest in drama-packed Turkish productions and we’re excited to be on the cutting edge of this growing trend,” said Francisco Gimenez, the general manager of cable networks for Hemisphere Media Group, Pasiones’ parent company.
