STUDIOCANAL has sold the North American rights to its drama series Vernon Subutex and the Danish comedy-drama series Pros and Cons to Topic, a new SVOD platform that launches on November 21 in the U.S. and Canada.

Romain Duris (The New Girlfriend, All the Money in the World) stars in Vernon Subutex, a 9×30-minute drama series co-written and directed by Cathy Verney. It was inspired by the best-selling novel that was shortlisted for the Man Booker International Prize.

Originally commissioned by Viaplay TV3 and produced by SAM Productions, Pros and Cons stars Lars Ranthe and Lena Maria Christensen.

Beatriz Campos, head of international sales at STUDIOCANAL, said, “At STUDIOCANAL we are continuing to build strong partnerships with both new and existing broadcasters and platforms to extend the reach of our premium content around the world. We are delighted to have started a brand-new relationship with Topic, we are sure these high-quality dramas will appeal to their subscribers and look forward to working with them in the future.”

Ryan Chanatry, general manager of Topic stated, “We’re thrilled to partner with STUDIOCANAL to acquire the North American SVOD rights to Vernon Subutex and Pros and Cons and to premiere these powerful dramas to audiences in the U.S. and Canada.”
