U&Dave Preps First Original Drama

U&Dave has lined up its first original drama series, the crime thriller Hit Point, produced by Urban Myth Films and written by Howard Overman (Misfits, War of the Worlds).

“Hit Point is a cop show like no other,” said Helen Perry, head of drama commissioning for UKTV. “With his singular voice, Howard has crafted a tense crime thriller that’s driven by a characterful ‘will they, won’t they’ romance. It’s a distinctive genre mash-up, full of heart, humor and action-packed sequences. It’s the perfect first scripted drama commission for U&Dave and U and a marker of our ambition for drama on the channel.”

Co-financed by CANAL+, with STUDIOCANAL handling worldwide distribution, the series follows 30-something detectives Leo and Bella as their latest case pulls them into a dangerous West London underworld. The lines between their personal and professional lives blur with every twist and betrayal of the case.

With David Caffrey (The Gentlemen, Peaky Blinders) directing, Hit Point is set to begin filming next month. Cast information will be forthcoming. The series will air on U and U&Dave next year.
