Wunmi Mosaku Cast as Lead of ITVX Thriller

BAFTA-winning actor Wunmi Mosaku (Loki, Damilola, Our Loved Boy) has been cast in the lead role of the new thriller Passenger for ITVX and ITV1.

Produced by SISTER (This is Going to Hurt, Chernobyl) in association with Northern Sister, the six-parter follows former Met police detective Riya Ajunwa as a series of strange events and increasingly horrific crimes begin happening in the small village she lives in.

The thriller is written by debut screenwriter Andrew Buchan, known for his acting roles in Broadchurch, The Honourable Woman and Better. BritBox International is a co-production partner.

In addition to Mosaku, the cast includes David Threlfall (Shameless, Funny Woman), Daniel Ryan (The Bay), Rowan Robinson (So Awkward), Barry Sloane (Six), Natalie Gavin (Gentleman Jack), Nico Mirallegro (My Mad Fat Diary, Rillington Place), Hubert Hanowicz (This is Going to Hurt), Jack James Ryan (Coronation Street), Matilda Freeman (Alma’s Not Normal), Shervin Alenabi (Baghdad in My Shadow), Ella Bruccoleri (Call the Midwife) and Arian Nik (The Bay).

Passenger is executive produced by Lucy Dyke (The Split, Eric) and Simon Maloney (Time, I May Destroy You) for Northern Sister and Jane Featherstone (This is Going to Hurt, Chernobyl) for SISTER. The series is produced by Sumrah Mohammed (The Split 3) and directed by Lee Haven-Jones (The Bay, The Feast) and Nicole Charles (The Following Events are Based on a Pack of Lies).

The series will debut on ITVX and air on ITV1. It will be available on BritBox in the U.S., Canada, Australia, South Africa, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. All3Media International is handling international distribution.
