STARZPLAY Picks Up The Girl from Plainville

STARZPLAY has acquired the drama series The Girl from Plainville for Europe, Japan and Latin America.

Based on the Esquire article by Jesse Barron, the series explores Michelle Carter’s relationship with Conrad Roy III and the events that led to his death and, later, her conviction of involuntary manslaughter.

Elle Fanning stars as Carter, alongside a cast of Chloë Sevigny, Colton Ryan, Cara Buono, Kai Lennox and Norbert Leo Butz.

STARZPLAY will stream the series in the U.K., Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Japan and Latin America, including Brazil and Mexico.

From UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, The Girl from Plainville is written and executive produced by co-showrunners Liz Hannah (The Post, The Dropout, Mindhunter) and Patrick Macmanus (Dr. Death). Fanning and Echo Lake’s Brittany Kahan Ward also executive produce.
