Eréndira Ibarra (The Matrix Resurrections, Ingobernable) is set to star in Yellow (w.t.), STARZPLAY’s first Spanish-language original series that will be available across its footprint in the U.K. and Europe.

In the six-episode dramedy series, Ibarra will play Detective Rojo, whose presence tends to cause insecurity in those around her and whose personality leads her to categorize people around her as witnesses, suspects or colleagues. A workaholic with no family or friends to distract her, Rojo is on a mission to find those responsible for an art heist.

Yellow tells the story of two female fugitives, Dan and Nico, who hijack a stick-shift taxi to escape from the authorities after stealing a work of art. Realizing that the car is not automatic, they are forced to kidnap Richie, the taxi driver, who also happens to be a suicidal ex-Formula 1 racer. Constantly having to thwart his suicide attempts, the three reach an agreement: if he takes them to the border, they will kill him. The series stars Tessa Ia as Dan and Lizeth Selene as Nico. Martín Saracho plays Richie.

Produced by The Immigrant, which is backed by global producer-distributor Fremantle, Yellow is created by Sofia Auza and directed by Auza and Silvana Aguirre. It was previously confirmed that Yellow would be available in Spain and Latin America, as well as on Pantaya in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
