Spotlight: MISTCO

MISTCO will be bringing two new titles to MIPCOM along with new seasons of Melek “A Mother’s Struggle” and The Last Emperor.

A brand-new series, The Innocents (Masumlar Apartmanı) has been broadcast on TRT1 and produced by OGM Pictures. It tells the love story of Han (Birkan Sokullu) and İnci (Farah Zeynep Abdullah), under the pressure of Safiye (Ezgi Mola), Han’s elder sister who suffers from OCD as a result of a traumatic childhood. “The series leads the rating in Turkey and has a huge fan group on social media as well,” says MISTCO’s managing director, Aysegul Tuzun.

There’s also the brand-new historical drama The Great Seljuks: Guardians of Justice, about Sultan Meliksah, who was the most courageous Sultan of the Selcjuk Dynasty. “The series, produced by Akli Film, invites the audiences for a visual feast with its breathtaking scenes,” says Tuzun. “As it is known, TRT has the best know-how for producing historical dramas and the series will be a new historical phenomenon like Resurrection Ertugrul, with its production quality, great story and fabulous cast who have international fame such as Buğra Gülsoy (known from My Little Girl), Ekin Koç (known from Magnificent Century: Kosem) and Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu (known from Heart of the City).”

Melek “A Mother’s Struggle” will be available with its second season. In this season, the story will focus on Melek and Halil, whose love comes to light again after years have past. “Produced by Üs Yapım, which is also the producer of Hold My Hand, Melek “A Mother’s Struggle” will remind us of the importance of being a family and standing against all difficulties together,” says Tuzun. “From the very first time, we believed in the title; it has been sold to several countries, even during the pandemic.”
