The StarzPlay streaming service is set to premiere the historical crime-drama series Godfather of Harlem in France and the U.K.

Set in the early 1960s, Godfather of Harlem reimagines the story of infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson, who returned from ten years in prison to find the neighborhood he once ruled in shambles. With the streets controlled by the Italian mob, Bumpy, who must take on the Genovese crime family to regain control, forms an alliance with Malcolm X. Godfather of Harlem will debut on StarzPlay in France and the U.K. on November 1, with new episodes from the first season airing weekly.

Godfather of Harlem was renewed for a second season earlier this year. Like season one, the next installment will consist of ten episodes. In addition to Forest Whitaker as star and executive producer, season one cast members include Vincent D’Onofrio, Ilfenesh Hadera, Nigél Thatch, Giancarlo Esposito, Lucy Fry, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Rafi Gavron and Antoinette Crowe-Legacy.

Produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, Godfather of Harlem is co-created and executive produced by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein. Whitaker and Nina Yang Bongiovi, along with James Acheson, Markuann Smith and Joe Chappelle serve as executive producers. Swizz Beatz serves as executive music producer. Chris Brancato serves as showrunner.
