Dynamic Television has landed the TV adaptation rights to Emrhys Cooper’s short film Trophy Boy.

Dynamic Television will serve as the studio and international distributor on the project. Trophy Boy focuses on a sought-after Instagram star who, after being dumped by his wealthy boyfriend, has to create a new life for himself. Cooper—star, creator and director—and fellow Trophy Boy actor Donal Brophy will executive produce along with Holly Hines, senior VP of original content at Dynamic Television.

“We were immediately drawn by the unique way Emrhys explores social media and the repercussions of using it to determine your own self-worth,” said Hines. “It touches a nerve in all of us while doing so with humor and heart. We are thrilled to bring it to television.”

Cooper added, “In the age of social media, it’s easy to get lost in the false world of online avatars. With this series, we hope to pull back the curtain and show the day-to-day struggles of these ‘influencers.’ Sometimes we all need a reminder that all that glitters isn’t gold.”
