Queens of Mystery Returns for Second Season

Season two of the British crime series Queens of Mystery is slated to debut on Acorn TV in the U.S. and Canada on January 10.

The show follows three crime-writing sisters and their detective niece Mattie as they use their knowledge to solve murders in the picturesque English region of Wildemarsh. No matter how many cases they solve, the one mystery that haunts them is the disappearance of Mattie’s mother 25 years prior.

Queens of Mystery stars Sarah Woodward (The Pale Horse), Julie Graham (The Bletchley Circle, Shetland, Penance), Siobhan Redmond (Unforgotten). Florence Hall (The Princess Switch: Switched Again) joins the cast as Mattie. Juliet Stevenson (Riviera, The Hour) returns to narrate the new season after receiving a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Narrator for the first season.

The second season was written by creator Julian Unthank (Doc MartinNew Tricks) and Matthew Thomas (Marcella, Agatha Raisin), with Oscar and BAFTA winner Ian Emes returning as lead director.

The series is produced by Sly Fox Productions, with Linda James and Savannah James-Bayly serving as producers and Tim Vaughan as associate producer.
