Women in Blue Scores Season Two Renewal

Apple TV+ has ordered a second season of the Spanish-language drama Women in Blue (Las Azules).

Set in 1971 and inspired by true events, season two will continue the story of the four women who defied the ultra-conservative norms of the time by becoming Mexico’s first female police force. Bábara Mori, Ximena Sariñana, Natalia Téllez and Amorita Rasgado will reprise their lead roles.

In the second season, María, played by Mori, has been promoted to lieutenant and now finds herself torn between the rules she’s sworn to uphold and a relentless pull toward the truth when the murder of a young university stuednt is followed by more casualties and reveals a deeper conspiracy. As the killings grow bolder, María, Ángeles, Gabina and Valentina must unravel a maze of buried secrets.

Women in Blue was created by International Emmy Award-winning showrunner and director Fernando Rovzar and Pablo Aramendi. Emmy Award nominee Wendy Riss, Erica Sánchez Su and International Emmy Award winner Billy Rovzar serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Lemon Studios.

The eight-episode second season is now in production.
