Acorn TV has greenlit the new crime drama Allie & Andi, which Brooke Shields (Mother of the Bride, Suddenly Susan) will star in and executive produce.

From creator and writer Robin Bernheim (Star Trek: Voyager, When Calls the Heart, Mother of the Bride), the six-episode murder mystery centers on a best-selling novelist who forms an unlikely alliance with an aspiring writer and influencer to find the killer of a close friend.

The series will go into production this fall and premiere in 2026. It is being co-produced by AMC Studios and Dynamic Television. AMC Studios/Acorn TV holds the distribution rights in North America, the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Dynamic Television will handle distribution in the rest of the world.

“I’m overjoyed to collaborate once again with the incredible Robin Bernheim, who has created two strong, smart women you want to root for within Allie & Andi,” Shields said. “The writing and storytelling really resonate with me, and this is a project I’m not only proud of but a role I can’t wait to play.”

“Acorn TV and AMC Studios are elated to move forward with Robin’s compelling and clever journey of two dynamic characters on a search for the truth anchored by powerhouse Brooke Shields,” commented Rob Fox, executive VP of production at AMC Networks. “Our aim is to stay true to the deep-rooted and sophisticated storytelling that the Acorn TV audience has come to expect, and they will not be disappointed with this vibrant ride. We’re thankful to Robin, Brooke and our partners at Dynamic for bringing Allie & Andi together.”

“We are thrilled to expand our prolific relationship with AMC with Robin’s exciting new series,” added Daniel March, managing partner of Dynamic. “Brooke Shields is a global icon and an incredibly talented actress who audiences will once again soon fall in love with.”
