The Sky original crime thriller A Town Called Malice is set to star Jack Rowan and Tahirah Sharif in leading roles.

Dougray Scott, Jason Flemyng and Martha Plimpton also star in the family saga. Created and written by Nick Love (Bulletproof, The Sweeney), the eight-part co-production between Vertigo Films, Rogue State and Sky Studios begins filming this month.

A Town Called Malice is set in the early ’80s among the beach clubs and palm trees of the Costa del Sol, following the Lords. The Lords, a crime family of petty thieves from South London, decamp to Spain to profit from an unexpected windfall and to escape the attention of the police in a high-profile murder inquiry.

A Town Called Malice will air on Sky Max and NOW in 2023. NBCUniversal Global Distribution will handle international sales of the series on behalf of Sky Studios.

Love said: “What an amazing cast. I am so lucky to finally be working with some of my favorite actors and childhood heroes. I couldn’t be more excited to see how they bring the Lord family to life.”
