Sky Becomes U.K. & Ireland Home for The Miniature Wife

Sky will be the exclusive home of The Miniature Wife, starring Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect, The Hunger Games) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), in the U.K. and Ireland.

“We are thrilled to have acquired The Miniature Wife from our long-standing partner Sony Pictures Television and are excited to bring it to our U.K. and Ireland customers next year,” said Katie Keenan, group director of acquisitions for Sky UK and Europe. “The show brings together an incredible all-star cast, including some familiar and much-loved British talent. The on-screen chemistry between Matthew and Elizabeth is magnetic, and paired with quick, witty writing, the comedy-drama from Media Res Studio is set to be one of the standout hits next year.”

The Miniature Wife, based on author Manuel Gonzales’s short story, is created by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (Boardwalk Empire, Goliath), who serve as showrunners and executive producers. Greg Mottola (Superbad, Nobody Wants This) serves as director for episodes one, two, seven and eight.

Alongside Banks and Macfadyen, the series stars Zoe Lister-Jones (Slip, Beau is Afraid), O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale, Presumed Innocent), Sian Clifford (Fleabag, The Ballad of Wallis Island) and Sofia Rosinsky (Paper Girls, Death and Other Details) as series regulars, and Ronny Chieng (The Daily Show, Crazy Rich Asians), Aasif Mandvi (Evil, The Daily Show), Rong Fu (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Hello (Again)) and Tricia Black (Small Achievable Goals, Pretty Hard Cases) in recurring roles.

The series sees Banks’ characters unexpectedly shrunk in a technological mishap, much to the surprise of her husband, played by Macfadyen.

The Miniature Wife will air on Sky and NOW in 2026. The series will have an exclusive screening at MIPCOM.
