UKTV has secured rights to the U.K. broadcast debut of the hit buddy-cop drama series Pretty Hard Cases for its Alibi channel.

The series stars Meredith MacNeill (Baroness von Sketch Show) and Adrienne C. Moore (Orange Is the New Black) as two vastly different female detectives who are at the top of their respective games. By day, they are heroes in their own particular way, but by night, they’re both grappling with loneliness, dysfunctional families and turbulent love lives.

The 10×1-hour series is produced by Cameron Pictures in association with Canada’s CBC and Universal International Studios. The series is distributed by NBCUniversal Global Distribution.

Charlie Charalambous, UKTV’s global acquisitions manager, commented: “To be working with NBCUniversal on this exciting new series is fantastic. The series features widely celebrated talent and is a welcome addition to our UKTV originals and British dramas that have performed brilliantly this year.”

Emma Ayech, Alibi channel director, added: “Over the last year the U.S. shows featured on Alibi have been outstanding, so it’s great to be adding the hilarious and hard-hitting Pretty Hard Cases to the 2022 slate.”
