Midnight Family Medical Drama Coming to Apple TV+

Midnight Family, a new medical drama inspired by the documentary of the same name, is slated to premiere on Apple TV+ on September 25.

The ten-episode series centers on an ambitious and gifted medical student who spends her nights saving lives throughout Mexico City aboard her family’s privately owned ambulance. The all-Hispanic cast includes Renata Vaca (Dale Gas), Joaquín Cosío (Narcos: Mexico) and Diego Calva (Babylon), among others.

Also starring in the series are Sergio Bautista, Óscar Jaenada (Hernán), José María de Tavira (The Candidate), Itzan Escamilla (Élite), Mariana Gómez (The Queen of Flow), Dolores Heredia (Capadocia). Oscar nominee Yalitza Aparicio (Roma) appears as a special guest.

Midnight Family is produced for Apple TV+ by Fremantle and Fabula (A Fantastic Woman). It comes from showrunner and director Natalia Beristáin. The project marks the second collaboration for Apple TV+, Fremantle and Beristáin, who previously directed episodes of The Mosquito Coast.

The new medical drama was created for television by Julio Rojas and Gibrán Portela. Juan de Dios Larraín and Pablo Larraín produced the series through Fabula. Executive producers are Ángela Poblete, Mariane Hartard, Natalia Beristáin, Rodrigo Herranz, Christian Vesper, Luke Lorentzen, Kellen Quinn, Josh Braun and Jonathan Bouzali.

Midnight Family’s first two episodes will premiere on September 25, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through November 20.
