Paramount+ Australia has given a second-season renewal to Last King of The Cross, produced by HELIUM and distributed by Cineflix Rights.

The second season of eight episodes will be set against the backdrop of Sydney nightlife in the early 2000s. Season one, inspired by John Ibrahim’s autobiography, was set in the ’80s and ’90s as it chronicled the rise of a poverty-stricken immigrant into Australia’s most infamous nightclub mogul.

Cineflix Rights rolled out season one to Sky in the U.K., Italy, Ireland and Germany, Paramount+ in Canada and Warner Bros. Discovery in New Zealand. The show was the most-watched Australian series premiere of 2023 in its home market.
