Cineflix Rights Sends Sunny Nights to the U.K.

The darkly comedic crime drama Sunny Nights, starring Will Forte (Last Man on Earth, Bodkin) and D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place, Barry), will debut in the U.K. on ITV through a deal with Cineflix Rights.

“Will Forte and D’Arcy Carden are already familiar faces to British viewers through two of the biggest streaming hits this year, The Four Seasons and Nobody Wants This,” said Tom Misselbrook, senior VP of scripted development at Cineflix Rights. “Together with the incredibly talented Trent O’Donnell, the outstanding showrunner and director of so many much-loved series like Colin from Accounts and Hacks, they’ve created a wonderfully funny dark crime series. We are thrilled to be partnering with ITV to bring Sunny Nights to U.K. audiences.”

The eight-parter sees Forte play the strait-laced American Matin Marvin, who teams up with his loose-cannon sister Vicki (Carden) to set up a spray tan business in Sydney. As they attempt to turn their company from a startup operating out of a van to a multi-million-dollar empire, the siblings become tangled up in Sydney’s criminal underworld.

Supporting cast members include Rachel House (Thor: Ragnarok, Heartbreak High, Foundation), Jessica De Gouw (The Couple Next Door, The Artful Dodger, Ladies in Black), Miritana Hughes (Wakefield, Preacher), Ra Chapman (White Fever, Wentworth) and Megan Wilding (Gold Diggers, Mystery Road: Origin), plus a special appearance from Patrick Brammall (Colin From Accounts, No Activity, The Letdown).

Sunny Nights is a Stan original series produced by Jungle Entertainment (Mr. Inbetween, Population 11) and Echo Lake Entertainment (The Great) in association with Cineflix Rights (The Walsh Sisters, So Long, Marianne, Virdee) and major production investment from Stan and Screen Australia. It is also financed with support from Screen NSW through the Made in NSW Fund. It is directed and executive produced by Trent O’Donnell (Colin from Accounts, Hacks, No Activity, Population 11) and is created and written by Nick Keetch (Almost Paradise) and Ty Freer (High Fire, Almost Paradise).

Sunny Nights is exactly the type of unique content that our audiences will enjoy; we can’t wait to introduce our viewers to this darkly funny series when it launches on ITVX in 2026,” commented Darren Nartey, head of content acquisitions at ITV.
