Apple TV+ has confirmed that Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly is set to star in Dark Matter, an adaptation of Blake Crouch’s sci-fi book of the same name.

Dark Matter centers on physicist, professor and family man Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), who gets abducted into an alternate version of his life. It follows him as he embarks on a harrowing journey to return to his reality amid the multiverse of lives he could have lived and save his family from himself. Connelly will play Daniela, Jason’s wife.

The Apple original series adaptation of Dark Matter will be produced by Sony Pictures Television and written by Crouch, who will also serve as the series’ showrunner and an executive producer. Edgerton is also executive producing alongside Matt Tolmach and David Manpearl for Matt Tolmach Productions. Jakob Verbruggen is set to direct the first three episodes.
