Dynamic Television is partnering with Grid Labs and Element 8 Entertainment to produce and distribute a live-action TV adaptation of the French graphic novel Le Chants des Stryges.

The graphic novel encompasses 17 volumes published in France by Delcourt Group for almost two decades. It has been translated into nine languages and spawned five spin-off series totaling 42 books. The TV adaptation, Stryx, is being penned by John Harrison (Dune, Residue).

“John Harrison is a master storyteller,” said Holly Hines, senior VP of original content for Dynamic. “We look forward to working with his talents and our Element 8 and Grid Labs partners on this incredible series.”

“It is rare to find a wonderful intellectual property that, while originating in Europe, has all the inherent qualities to expand into a global phenomenon, with unique characters, riveting action and great commercial potential,” said Mark Mertens of Grid Labs. “Stryx ticks all those boxes. With Element 8 and Dynamic we feel that there is a perfect partnership in place to bring John Harrison’s thrilling vision to life.”

“Dynamic is the perfect addition to our international team,” said Patty Ishimoto of Element 8 Entertainment. “Their creative instincts are crucial to bringing Stryx to life.”
