Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is slated to make its debut across AMC, BBC America, IFC, Sundance TV and WEtv, all five of AMC Networks’ linear networks, for a world premiere event on January 8.

Based on Rice’s best-selling trilogy Lives of the Mayfair Witches, the series centers on young neurosurgeon Rowan Fielding, who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches.

Alexandria Daddario stars as Rowan, and she is joined by Jack Huston, Tongayi Chirisa and Harry Hamlin. Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is produced by AMC Studios and is executive produced by Mark Johnson, showrunner Esta Spalding, writer Michelle Ashford, director Michael Uppendahl and Jeff Freilich.

Following its linear debut, the series will stream on Shudder, Sundance Now, Acorn and ALLBLK on January 12. It will air on AMC+ on January 8.

Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is a wildly entertaining series in our emerging Anne Rice Immortal Universe, with a terrific creative team and cast, led by Alexandra Daddario as an unforgettable Rowan Mayfair,” said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. “We want to give this series the broadest possible launch across all five of our national networks, especially coming just a few months after the first season of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, which was so well-received by viewers and critics.”

A companion documentary special exploring the history of witches, All of Them Witches, debuts December 21 on AMC+ and January 2 on AMC.
