In January, MHz Choice will bring a slew of new international titles, including French, South African and German series, to U.S. and Canadian audiences.

Among the new titles is the French limited series Le Code, centering on cocky lawyer Idriss Tomas, who narrowly escapes an attempted murder with an inoperable bullet in his head that could be fatal at any time. He decides to use his new lease on life by creating a legal dream team to help those who have been left behind by the justice system.

Daniel Njo Lobé, Naidra Ayadi and Christiane Millet star in the French series, which is distributed by Mediawan.

Also being added to MHz Choice’s catalog is Grassroots, which will be its second title from South Africa. The series tells the coming-of-age story of two young Xhosa men, Asanda and Monwabisi, as they make their way in an elite Johannesburg private school. Both men are from the rural Eastern Cape and feels the need to prove themselves on and off the rugby field.

The French crime drama Alice Nevers will make its way to MHz Choice as well. The series follows as Alice Nevers leads murder investigations with police commander Fred Marquand. The first season’s episodes touch on mental health treatment, Catholic Church dogma and workplace harassment, among other topics.

The January additions also include a pair of new German series: Barcelona Crime, distributed by Beta Films, covering the seedier underworld of Barcelona, and Berlin Legal, distributed by Studio Hamburg, on the problems that come with representing well-known and well-connected clients.
